Welcome to the Family
From our guests, to employees, to our very own Cambridge neighbors. You all make up our Charles Hotel family since opening our doors in 1985. It’s about time we get to know each other! Each month, we’ll share little tidbits of the very personalities and characters that brighten our days, everyday.
Let’s start the introductions:
Archie Almodovar – Restaurant Manager at Henrietta’s Table
Class of ‘15
Archie has been with us for almost 1.5 years – initially starting his Charles career as a manager at Noir and now acting as one of the dedicated managers of our all-day dining restaurant Henrietta’s Table. Originally from Spanish Harlem in New York City, Archie relocated to the Boston area after meeting his wife – a Harvard grad. Need a cocktail recommendation? Archie’s your guy.
What’s your favorite Charles Hotel memory so far?
I loved when the Roma soccer team came to visit – they were here for an entire week and ate nearly every meal at Henrietta’s. They love our farm-to-table concept for American cuisine. Even though I’m a Liverpool fan, it was pretty cool to see.
Richie Hannigan – Doorman
Class of ‘91
If you’ve stayed with us before – then you’ve likely been greeted by Richie’s thick Boston accent. Growing up in neighboring Somerville on Prospect Hill, he’s been with us for over 26 years. Wow.
What’s your favorite thing to order at Henrietta’s Table?
Hands down the French toast – with all the works. And you can’t forget the side of bacon.
Who has been the most memorable guest you’ve met?
It was my first day of work and Paul Newman showed up with his wife. I knew he was a racecar driver, so I was surprised to see him pull up in a Volvo station wagon.
